About Desert Braemar

Desert Braemar is a residential 55 and older neighborhood which offers immaculate landscaping and many amenities. The Home Owners Association fees include building insurance, water, sewer, basic cable, and taxes.

Desert Braemar has beautifully maintained grounds on 12 and a half acres which includes tennis courts, a pool, spa, bocci ball putting green, clubhouse, library, and fitness center. There is also an onsite manager for homeowners who need assistance. Residents can choose from a variety of activities that are open to owners, guests, and renters during the season. The Men’s and Women’s Clubs are in charge of upkeep in the Garden Room facilities and kitchen. They recently added a large screen TV and surround sound which comes in handy during special events like the Super Bowl.

There are 100 units that include amenities like AC, dual paned windows, sliders, new doors, plantation shutters, and high ceilings with stained wood beams. The kitchens have slab granite kitchen counters, stainless steel appliances, and cherry wood cabinetry. Desert Braemar is located next to The Atrium and across from the Thunderbird Resort & Spa Hotel.

This neighborhood is also close to many of the venues of Rancho Mirage, a resort city in Riverside County and one of nine in the Coachella Valley. Incorporated in 1973, it is located between Palm Desert and Cathedral City. It was named after Mirage Cove merged with five unincorporated neighborhoods that were known as the Cove communities; Desert, Tamarisk, Palmas, Magnesia, and Thunderbird.

Rancho Mirage was settled in the 1920’s and 1930’s but didn’t gain recognition until after World War II when movie stars and executives came to this area for recreation and relaxation. Many celebrities visited and lived in this area including Frank Sinatra, Mary Martin, and Bob Hope as well as Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan.
